Behind the Scenes | Making a movie is hard work!

Filming on location is hard work, even when you have film permits. Unless you have a large crew and can block off a mile or two, almost anything can happen. We had dogs, kids and neighbors to wrestle with. The neighbors were pretty nice actually, but we did get lots of strange looks and whenever we filmed outdoors, that was apparently the best time to mow the grass, and then do the trimming.

When it wasn’t the elements around us acting up, it was the actors. It was all in good fun. Twelve hour shoots doing the same thing over and over again will drive anybody to silliness. It was a lot of fun, but almost everyday we realized just how much work it is to make a movie. We have to give those folks in Hollywood credit. Even movies we might think are less than stellar, take a lot of hard work and effort. It'll be hard to watch a movie the same way ever again.

Row One: Co-director Mark Jeweler wrangling a dog off the set.

Row Two: Darrell, one of our sound guys, and his daughter recording audio to a laptop; producer Larry Amon; Actors, Will and Dante, being all buddy buddy. Did you know Dante is a youth pastor and Will is his youth?

Row Three: Our crew working hard; Karen working sound (and being a good hostess); Dante seems to be sidewalk surfing.

Row Four: Our crew prepaing the shots with the homemade dolly. And, we have to show you some of the cute kids that were in the film too. Everyone likes a movie with cute kids, right?
